Personally, I use social media to connect with friends and family. Professionally, I use social media to follow like-minded individuals in the discipline and draw inspiration from their practices. I hope to continue this trend across a wider platform of social medias in the near future.
I use social media personally to stay connected with friends and family, as well as follow some of my favorite bands and celebrities. Professionally, I use social media to promote my library's resources and services on Facebook and Twitter. I also recently created a professional Twitter to connect with colleagues in librarianship and follow current trends in my field. I use LinkedIn to keep an updated resume and connect with other professionals.
I use social media to stay connected with friends and family from the past and present. This goes for facebook, instagram, and snapchat. Professionally, I used mostly facebook because I have become friends with my colleagues and we will post teaching pictures or posts to each other. We will sometimes create groups on facebook for a particular event that is happening within in our school. Also on facebook, I liked our PTO page and am able to comment with the parents on our school on their as well.
I use Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat on a personal level. I post pictures of my family and animals and use those social media platforms to stay in touch with loved ones. I currently do not have a professional social media account. I do not post anything relating to my career on my personal pages (i.e. professional opinions, political options, pictures of students, etc.), I only use it for personal reasons. The only thing I post about my job on my personal account is in relation to my classroom guinea pig or a creative/holiday craft.
I use social media professionally by staying connected with my students outside of the classroom and keeping my students connected with each other as well. I've always wanted to make a Linkedin account because I feel that it would be beneficial to my professional life, but have never gotten around to it. In my personal life I keep things pretty simple. I just try to stay in contact with those I haven't seen in awhile.
For personal purposes, I use Instagram for entertainment by following my favorite actors, activists, authors, political figures, etc.. Instagram and Facebook also allow me to keep in contact with friends and family. Professionally, I follow respected leaders in the field of dyslexia and Orton-Gillingham instruction on both Facebook and Instagram. I don't use any other forms of social media.
Personally I use social media for entertainment. I do collect articles to read usually in the fields of education, parenting, and Psychology. Professionally, I am not in the work world right now, so I do not use it all. I am learning from this class that Twitter will be my friend. So I will look forward to learning more about that.
Personally, I use social media for connection, entertainment, sharing my own content, and a little bit of education. I talk to my friends almost every day via social media, share my own thoughts and feelings, and I'm able to be entertained and learn a few things on some platforms.
Personally, I like to use social media to keep me up to date on family and friends that live all over the US. I also like the fact that I can easily send likes, care, hearts, etc to show that I have seen their posts as a way to show that I care. In addition, personally it is a way to fill my down time to take away from stress. I would say that after working all day, after getting home and getting ready for bed I like to scroll for a few minutes to just get caught up on current events as well as watch short videos that are posted. There are a lot of great DIY videos, informative videos, and current events that they post on there. I also like the fact that there are places to go and sell/buy items from others through the marketplace. Professionally, I like to use social media to stay connected with colleagues and friends. I have been in a couple districts and this allows me to stay connected with those that I used to work with and those who I currently work with. I do not like to call or text a whole lot, so it is easier for me to stay connected by posting or commenting on others' posts. This was I can still show that I care, but not have to worry about texting someone back right away (I am horrible about that).
I use social media personally to connect with friends and family near and far. I also use it as a form of entertainment when following celebrities and music interests. I use Pinterest more for professional use. I am able to search ideas for lesson plans on specific topics, and I can also read teacher blogs and participate in the forums.
I use social media personally to connect with my friends on a daily basis, but also as a method of entertainment. As someone who's in the point of their life in which their friends are more like family, it's important to foster those relationships with people I'm unable to see daily. I use social media to enhance my entertainment as well; for example, I love to watch the show 'Survivor' and find myself getting more drawn to the contestants after seeing their social media presence.
Professionally, I use social media to gather resources and helpful tips. Sometimes I have a great lesson idea that needs to be rounded out with another engaging activity and often I find it posted in a facebook group. Sharing resources on social media has been a wonderful way educators have supported educators, especially through a global pandemic and national teacher shortage.
I mostly use social media on a personal level to connect with my friends daily. My friends in college very quickly became my family, so it is very important to me to keep in touch with them on the daily.
Professionally, I use social media to find new resources to implement in the classroom. Pinterest is my go-to, where Facebook teacher groups are a close second. I frequently share lessons with my colleagues, and they reciprocate the favor.
I use social media personally for a few reasons. Primarily, I use it to keep it touch with friends that live far away. I also follow some celebrities and people I find interesting.
Professionally, I find resources on Facebook. I follow French teachers on instagram and Tik_TOk for videos to share with my students. In the past, I have had an instagram for French club, but I don't have one currently.
I use social media daily for personal use. Some ways I use it include using Facebook messenger to communicate with friends, sharing MEMEs that make me laugh, and looking through the posts of people whom I may not be as close with anymore, but still care to see and celebrate their successes in life.
Professionally, I like to use Instagram to connect with other educators. I am often times inspired to try new things and learn new skills based off of their content.
