Social Media and Lifestyle

What social media is/are ideal for your lifestyle? Why?

  1. At this time, my personal preference of social media is Facebook. However, I have zero doubt that the most efficient and ideal social media for a health and physical education discipline is Twitter. I believe the ability to quickly reach a large student body through a mention or hashtag is ideal for any given active lifestyle.

  2. I prefer to use Facebook and Instagram because those are the two platforms the majority of my friends and family use. I can quickly check each to see photos and life updates, and I can easily connect with friends via Messenger. The more I advance in my career, I think Twitter best fits my professional lifestyle as it can provide access to news as well as current trends in my field. I am primarily a consumer of social media, so Twitter and Facebook help meet that need.

  3. I believe instagram is the ideal lifestyle for me. Instagram offers teaching pages and people who are posting or reposting teaching resources. It allows me to connect with other teachers and see how they are creative to help me revamp my teaching styles or classroom. I really do use social media for my personal use but I can see how instagram or twitter offer more for my teaching career.

  4. Right now, Facebook and Instagram are the most conducive to my lifestyle because they do not require a lot of maintenance. I am not on social media very often and if I am, it am usually an observer rather than an active participant. I enjoy looking at pictures my friends post and being able to connect with them and still feel like I know what is going on in their lives without actually being there. Life is hectic and busy for everyone and I am grateful for social media because otherwise, many people would lose touch completely.

  5. Recently the only form of social media that has been beneficial to my lifestyle is Snapchat because I control what I see and who I talk to. It keeps me connected with friends that I haven't been able to see during this lock down period. I began to notice that Facebook/Twitter was actually effecting my mood. The negativity surrounding my timeline was enough to keep me away for awhile.

  6. I like Instagram because it's visually based, and posts are short and succinct. Great for my ADHD. :)

  7. Since I use Facebook the most, I guess I will have to say Facebook. I keep in touch with people I wouldn't normally. I don't necessarily use it to make new friends. I am very careful with whom I let in. I like sharing photos with people I know. Occasionally I will post a quote or an article. This week I actually posted an obituary of someone I recently lost.

  8. For my personal life, I'd say that Instagram keeps me the most updated on my followers. I could probably go without using Tiktok or Snapchat even though my Zillenial attention span loves the short content. I think Twitter would make a great tool professionally to stay up on recent stories and articles and posts from other professionals.

  9. Facebook would be the most ideal for my lifestyle because it gets me caught up on family and friends pretty quickly and keeps me up to date on current events. Also, allows for me to interact with those through messenger instead of giving out my personal phone number. I can easily scroll through Facebook quickly and not spend too much time on there. Professionally, Facebook also allows for me to stay in contact with families and the community in my school district as well as see current events with the school districts Facebook page. Facebook is very versatile with the amount of options you can have with this platform of social media. I enjoy the short videos, some of the advertising, posts and pictures, and communication through commenting and posting.

  10. The social media platform that is most ideal for my lifestyle is Facebook. It allows me to connect with family and friends near and far. I am originally from Syracuse, NY and it makes it easier to stay connected to my friends and previous co-workers since I do not visit as often as I'd like. I am also belong to specific groups on Facebook where we come together to share a common interest.

  11. The social media platform that is most ideal for my lifestyle is definitely Facebook. I mainly use it to keep in contact with my friends from college and family. I don't post on Facebook frequently, but when I do it is to post pictures of my dog, Cooper, or to update our business Facebook page.

  12. The social media platform that is most ideal for my lifestyle is Snapchat. I use snapchat many times a day to check in with people that I'm closest to in my life. I am able to share and save photos and videos, private message, group message, and keep up-to-date using the story feature. While snapchat is not the most versatile social media platform, it is the one that I find myself visiting most frequently and it makes me feel more connected to others than just a text. As someone who likes to stay busy, Snapchat is the perfect social media that I can pop on and off of as I need without it taking up much of my time!

  13. I like Instagram because I can look through personal posts from my friends and also access things I am interested in professionally at the same time. My feed has a ton of French bloggers and posts from my friends. I like that I can take a break and scroll and discover something great for my classroom.

  14. I love using facebook because the feed updates as you look at it. I can start by seeing the most recent material and work my way through anything I may have missed. Instagram is a great way to casually browse, see celebrations of others, and has a simple format. I love using Snapchat most because this is how I communicate with my step-daughter when she is with her mom in New York. It's great to see her posting with her friends and I can monitor what she is doing, where she is, and when she is active, even when she is not with me. The only downfall to Snapchat is the inability to view content at a later time. Some days, I'm in the middle of something and open a Snapchat, but don't have enough time to reply; conversations sometimes get left unanswered because of this feature.
